Vivian sent me these pictures in the middle of her busy schedule juggling between school and moving house.
Was so excited and overwhelmed by the experience of first time doing necropsy (autopsy to animal), she called me from Brisbane right after 5 hours of marathon post-mortem. Not feeling hungry even working thru lunch, simply because the process was quite an awesome experience.
This Dugong was found dead in the Ocean Park and was transported to the Uni a day later. Vivian participated in the finding at the invitation of her uni mates. The fact that sighting of a stomach filled with live worms was something that relieved her from cooking for a day or two....
Aspiring to be a Marine Biologist, Vivian has put in her heart and soul into studying which made us very proud of her achievements. Continuing her BSc Honours at UQ in 2010, this little girl of mine had somehow quietly leaping into a grown up woman, "unnoticeably".
The outbreak of HINI had prevented us from meeting up this year but nevertheless, December's Summer break will come very soon and am looking forward to prepare your favorite dishes when you are back home or rather let mama test out your new found cooking skills of making pasta and fried mee mamak, Brisbane style.
