The Pure Life Society - Current Needs

I know that the overall economy downturn and the recent hike of fuel and food prices might have taken a toll on everybody, but I believe that many will still have the poor and the underprivileged in mind.

Many Charitable organizations are now starting to find ways and means to pull through this trying times. The daily expenses, i.e. petrol expenses in sending the orphans to school, sending the disabled to work, and also the aged for medical treatments are inevitable. Maintaining the vehicles is also another challenging task. There are lesser people coming forward to donate rice, food and household items. This is the overall picture of the Charitable Homes now.

Even though people are feeling the pinch, but I hope that we could re-collect our lives by adjusting to the present situation and given time, we can regenerate our savings to help the needy, this I am confident.

So, lets go back to The Pure Life Society current needs:

1. Tutorials
The children who attend normal schools need extra coaching. They need qualified tutors right from Standard One up to Form Five. Volunteers and welcome.
2. The Computer Training Unit needs personnel who can volunteer their services regularly in the coaching of the boys and girls.
3. Volunteers who are knowledgeable in gardening are invited to join the boys and girls in the project.
4. Assistance is required in the library from 6pm to 8pm on week-ends and in the afternoons on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
5. Help in reading for children attending Tamil, Chinese and National schools.
6. Teachers who can train children in choral speaking / percussion band.
7. Volunteers who can teach musical instruments such as the guitar, the piano and organize the percussion band.
8. Will you come forward to relate to the children in the Primary School on a 1:1 or 1:2 basis in order to inculcate a fondness for reading or mathematics?
