HEART ATTACK!!!

Who are we consumers turn to in this event?

excerpts from The Star On Line:

Silomat taken off the shelves

PETALING JAYA: Boehringer Ingelheim has decided to withdraw from the market Silomat, one of its products used to treat irritable cough.

The cough mixture contains clobutinol hydrochloride.

The decision to withdraw the product from the market was decided with authorities in Germany after new findings from a clinical study on clobutinol hydrochloride suggest that a potential risk of cardiac arrhythmia cannot be excluded.

The company has advised patients to discontinue usage of the product.

Diethelm Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the vendor and appointed sole distributor of Silomat in Malaysia, will refund customers who have bought Silomat.

Patients may return the Silomat bottles by Oct 31 to the pharmacies, clinics or hospitals where they got the medicine.
